The South Carolina Bluebird Society will host a family picnic and meeting at the Silver Bluff Audubon Center on Saturday, June 2, 2012 beginning at 4:00 p.m. Various finger sandwiches will be provided along with non-alcoholic drinks, plates, utensils, etc. Each group attending is asked to bring one dish to share. The cost is $5 per person payable on arrival. There is no charge for children under 16.
The Silver Bluff Audubon Center has a visitors center with displays and exhibits of wildlife, two hiking trails of three-quarter and two miles, respectively, and the Kathwood Ponds where sightings of Bald Eagles, Wood Storks, Great Blue Herons, Great Egrets (white) and a host of other species are common. You may wish to arrive early to enjoy the scenery.
