initiative to recognize communities that preserve their cultural
and natural heritage.
Aiken has been included on its 2008 list of
America's Dozen Distinctive Destinations by the National Trust

April 23, 2007, Aiken, S.C. - Woodside Plantation's Reserve Course has been ranked number 18 in Golf Digest's 2007-2008 "Best in State" rankings. The Nicklaus Design course was one of only two courses in Aiken County to make Golf Digest's list of the 25 best public and private golf facilities in South Carolina. The rankings are published in conjunction with Golf Digest's biannual " America's 100 Greatest Golf Courses" rankings and are determined by the magazine's course rating panelists, a group of more than 800 low-handicap golfers who rate thousands of U.S. courses on a 10-point scale in various criteria. These updated state-by-state rankings appear in the April 2007 issue of Golf Digest. "We are truly honored to be recognized by Golf Digest," said Pat Cunning, CEO of Woodside Plantation. "To be ranked on the same list as some of the most distinguished courses in the country is a testimony to our outstanding course.
