Hitchcock Woods
Established in 1939 by Thomas Hitchcock and his daughter Helen Clark, Hitchcock Woods is now established on 2,100 acres of land and is among the largest urban forests in the nation. As a unique Southern forest, it offers visitors the natural beauty and quiet solitude rarely found in an urban area. With scenic trails, bridges and horse riding trails, Hitchcock Woods is a natural treasure that Aiken residents are fortunate to have right in town.
