Betsy Wilson Mahoney

Born and raised right here in Aiken, SC, Betsy left the area to attend college at USC in Columbia. The reason she chose to return to Aiken after earning a degree was the amazing arts culture in the Aiken community. Though she takes part in many theater productions singing and acting, it’s her painting that has made Betsy a recognized name in Aiken. Explaining that painting is something she has always done, Betsy focuses mostly on paintings of Aiken and also lends her skills to images of the Foothills and the Beach. Why just these places? Betsy believes, “Painting is a sincere art expression of what you know and love.” And Betsy loves the places she paints. She recently illustrated the limited edition coffee table book – The Aiken Book, a Watercolor Tour – that was written by her daughter.
