You may have noticed our mascot at the Woodside Sales Office – Buttercup the cat.  Even though I am allergic to cats, I have grown to lovefrom the woodside plantation community developer Buttercup becasue I admire his persistence.  Buttercup showed up at our doorstep about a year ago, and as much as I tried to get him to leave, he simply would not.  His persistence paid off, and now Buttercup is very well fed and, perhaps, the most popular member of our staff with visitors to Woodside.

I feel somewhat like Buttercup during the recent real estate market.  Although not easy, we have been persistent in doing the things that will benefit all of us at Woodside in the long run.  Things like continuing to maintain the community to our high standards, continuing to market Woodside, investing in the community and improving the quality and value of the homes we sell.  A short list of our recent projects:

Pine Glen – our first new neighborhood in a few years, and already more than 25% of Pine Glen properties have been sold.

Reserve Club Verandah – the beautiful new Verandah wrapping around The Reserve Club bar offers panoramic views of the 1st and 18th holes of the award winning Nicklaus golf course.

Wellness Center – the steel is going up, framing is in progress and the brand new 22,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art Wellness Center in The Village at Woodside is on target for a grand opening this fall.

New Home Construction – the 2012 Festival of Homes was the best ever, showcasing 10 beautiful homes.  In addition to breathtaking designs and excellent quality, our builders have done an excellent job of keeping costs low, offering exceptional value.  And the Aiken Design Center has been able to obtain excellent pricing on the most popular home furnishings, which we pass on to our customers at everyday prices of 20-25% off customary pricing.

Community Appeal – the golf courses at Woodside are in phenomenal shape, thanks to Superintendent Derek Floyd and our professional golf staff.  And our commitment to maintaining high standards is also evident in continued landscape improvements throughout the community.

When I compare the amount of activity at Woodside, our stable prices, the number of homes under construction and the continued interest in the community, I know persistence is the right policy.  Thanks, Buttercup!
